League Structure:

The league will be split between two leagues: The Golden League and The Silver League. Generally speaking, teams in the Silver League are hoping to win their way to a spot in the Golden League, and teams in the Golden League are hoping to win games to retain their spot in the Golden League. (see “Relegation/Promotion” below for more information)

  • ONLINE HOST: Each league will be hosted on Yahoo Fantasy as separate leagues, both set to allow public viewing.
  • MATCHUPS: Teams will only play other teams within their league.
  • PLAYERS: The two leagues will not share player pools (all NFL players can be drafted in both leagues).
  • COMMISSIONERS: Each league should have a minimum of one commissioner. (If all four commissioners are in the same league, someone from the other league will be picked to serve as league manager in charge of enacting the requests of the other commissioners.)
  • SCORING: The two leagues will have the same scoring settings.
  • CHAMPIONSHIPS: Each league will have its own playoff bracket and championship game, so there will be two league champions every year: winner of the Golden League and winner of the Silver League.
  • RELEGATION/PROMOTION + Prizes (Post-Playoff Standings):
    • Golden League
      • 1st Place (Champion; Monetary Prize; Commissioner’s Bonus; Stay in Golden League)
      • 2nd Place (Runner-Up; Monetary Prize; Stay in Golden League)
      • 3rd Place (Monetary Prize; Stay in Golden League)
      • 4th Place (Stay in Golden League)
      • 5th Place (Winner of Consolation; First Choice of Draft Position; Stay in Golden League)
      • 6th Place (Demotion to Silver League)
      • 7th Place (Demotion to Silver League)
      • 8th Place (Demotion to Silver League)
    • Silver League
      • 1st Place (Champion; Monetary Prize; Promotion to Golden League)
      • 2nd Place (Runner-Up; Monetary Prize; Promotion to Golden League)
      • 3rd Place (Monetary Prize; Promotion to Golden League)
      • 4th Place (Stay in Silver League)
      • 5th Place (Winner of Consolation; First Choice of Draft Position; Stay in Silver League)
      • 6th Place (Shame; Stay in Silver League)
      • 7th Place (Shame; Stay in Silver League)
      • 8th Place (Shame; Stay in Silver League)
    • FIRST YEAR (2023): The 16 teams will be drafted by the commissioners into two temporary leagues (2 commissioners per league). Therefore, there will not be a Golden or Silver League until 2024, after managers have had the chance to win their spot in the Golden League in 2023.
    • SECOND YEAR (2024): Teams finishing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Place (post-playoff standings) in each league will form the Golden League in 2024. Teams finishing 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th Place (post-playoff standings) in each league will form the Silver League in 2024.
    • THIRD YEAR+ (2025+): See “RELEGATION/PROMOTION”.

Keepers:

Keepers will not be used for either league primarily due to the possibility of two teams having the same keeper after promotions/demotions. Furthermore, the swapping of teams after each year, prevents the use of Yahoo’s integrated keeper tools.

Draft:

  • Drafts for both leagues will follow the same rules/formats and would each have their own distinct pool of players to draft from.
  • LOCATION: Draft will be held in an online draft room through Yahoo’s fantasy website.
  • TIME AND DATE: Time and date for each league’s drafts will be decided by their respective commissioners, but must be held after the last preseason game, and before the first game of Week One.
  • STRUCTURE: Teams will be picking players in a snake format with 15 rounds.
  • TIME PER PICK: Each team will have 2 minutes per pick to make their selection.
  • POSITIONAL LIMITS: No positional limits will be implemented.
  • DRAFT DAY TRADES: Trading of Players and Picks will not be allowed during the draft. Picks must be traded prior to the day of the draft.
  • DRAFT ORDER: Teams will pick which draft position they prefer in an order that is based on the previous year’s post-playoff standings:
    • Golden League

Trades:

Trades will be evaluated by all commissioners regardless of league. It is not the commissioner’s responsibility to determine the fairness of the trade, but rather determine that the trade is not the result of, or the attempt of collusion or player dumping/donating.

  • TRADE APPROVAL: All commissioners will be part of a commissioner-only group chat, where screenshots of trades are sent for approval. Each pair of commissioners are responsible for approving or rejecting their league’s trades. Both commissioners should express approval of no collusion or player dumping/donating before being approved in Yahoo Fantasy Football.
  • COMMISSIONER TRADES: Commissioners may not approve any trade that they are involved in. The uninvolved commissioner must express approval to push. If both commissioners are involved, approval is kicked over to the commissioners of the other league where only one approval is needed.
  • TRADE DEADLINE: The trade deadline will be set to the latest day possible allowed by Yahoo that isn’t “no deadline at all” and that arrives before the start of playoffs.
Meteors

Waiver Wire:

We will follow Yahoo’s default settings, which are as follows:

  • Waivers will be determined weekly through a rolling list based on standings (8th, 7th, 6th, etc.)
  • All un-rostered players will be placed on waivers at the start of their games.
  • Free agents can be added directly into a team’s IR slot.
  • Players will remain on the waiver wire for one day (Tuesday), and waivers are processed on Wednesday morning.

Code of Conduct:

All team managers should strive to foster a positive and enjoyable environment for all participants. This includes:

  • INTEGRITY: All managers will uphold the integrity of the league by following the rules and guidelines set forth in the league constitution. Cheating, collusion, or any form of unfair advantage-seeking will not be tolerated. This also includes any instances of self-sabotage (i.e. dropping all your players, purposely throwing a game, gifting wins, etc.)
    • If the commissioners determine that a team manager has intentionally acted unfairly (whether or not there are prewritten rules outlining that particular type of behavior), then the commissioners may determine what is the best course of action.
    • No rule that is defined in this ruleset may be changed during the season.
  • RULE CHANGES: Commissioners will let managers know of any rule changes in a timely manner.
  • ACTIVE PARTICIPATION: All managers will actively manage their fantasy football teams throughout the season, ensuring that lineups are set on time, and roster adjustments are made to the best of our abilities. Inactivity or neglecting teams may result in necessary actions taken by the league commissioners. (We understand that life gets in the way sometimes, but repeated neglect is not tolerable.)

Team Managers:

  • EMAILS: Commissioners will be in charge of collecting and storing the emails of the participating managers.
  • OFF-SEASON DEPARTURE: If a manager leaves during the offseason, they are replaced and their replacement will automatically play their first season in the Silver League.
    • DRAFT POSITIONS: They will be given the remaining draft position after the other teams have made their selections. If multiple managers leave, replacements are given draft positions at a random order.
    • PROMOTIONS: If a manager of the Golden League were to leave, the next highest ranking member of the Silver League is promoted.
    • CHANGES IN DRAFT RULES: If managers leaving were to cause a shift in draft rules, then commissioners will adjust in a way they see fit and fair.
  • IN-SEASON DEPARTURE OR DISQUALIFICATION: If something were to occur to cause the departure of a manager during the season (i.e. collusion, team abandonment, etc.) then a commissioner of the other league will take over the team and play their highest projected players.
    • PLAYOFFS AND PRIZE: The eligibility of playoffs and prizes for teams that suffer from the departure of a manager will be determined by the commissioners on a case by case basis.

Theming:

  • Theming for either league is highly encouraged but not required.
  • The theme for either league is chosen by their respective commissioners with or without the input of the managers.
  • NAMING: The naming of each league shall remain the same every year with the only adjustment made being the Roman numeral that follows it.
