Angry Soccer Moms is a competitive fantasy football club structured into ​two 8-player leagues with 16 total managers. Generally speaking, ​managers in the Silver League are playing to win their way into the Gold ​League by earning a top-three performance in the playoffs. Meanwhile, ​Gold League players hope to avoid relegation to the Silver League by ​avoiding a bottom-three placement in the playoff consolation bracket.

The league is overseen by four commissioners—Lionel, Katie, Gabriel, and ​Angel—who ensure that the rules are fair, fun, and consistently enforced. ​As a prize league, participants not only play for bragging rights but also ​for rewards, especially those in the Gold league vying for the prize money ​and the (very prestigious) commissioner’s bonus. The Angry Soccer Moms (ASM) fantasy football league was founded in 2018 ​by Lionel, Katie (CA), and Gabriel when migrated to the Yahoo Fantasy app. ​Of the ten original members of Angry Soccer Moms I, seven dedicated ​players—Lionel, Katie (CA), Gabriel, Macie, Brandon, Alyssa, and Jamison—​have played yearly throughout its seven-year history. Dilan will be next to ​join the group of most consistent players, with yearly play since ASM II.

Angry Soccer Moms had 10 or 12 players for its first five seasons, with a ​series of players joining—Leo, Xavier, and Eric. However, following a surge ​in interest in the league and the dedication of our team managers, in 2023 ​the commissioners decided to split the league into two 8-team leagues to ​accommodate 16 players. In this expansion, ASM saw the return of original ​ASM I team manager Jaco as well as the introduction of ASM debuts of ​Bradley, Katie (AZ), and Janessa. This expansion also prompted the ​addition of a new commissioner, Angel, joining the original trio of Lionel, ​Katie, and Gabriel in order to ensure the likelihood of each league (Gold and ​Silver) having at least one commissioner every year.

The rules have evolved alongside the league's growth, constantly being ​refined to ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all participants. For ​example, defensive scoring has improved over the years so that teams are ​rewarded points on individual plays rather than receiving an overall score ​for defensive performance. This ultimately makes defensive scoring ​match the scoring philosophy of each other position in the league.

Although Lionel won the league’s inaugural season, over the years Brandon ​has emerged as one of the league’s best competitors, securing ​championship wins in 2019, 2020, and 2023.

Throughout its history, Angry Soccer Moms has incorporated various ​themes to keep the competition fresh and exciting. Past themes have ​included Villains vs. Heroes (2019), Loteria (2020), terrible movies (2021), ​a charity year (2022), and favorite restaurants (2023). With all 16 ​managers returning from 2023, Angry Soccer Moms continues in

2024 with its permanent division into the Gold and Silver leagues.
